Abstract

Interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) are combinations of two or more polymers in network form, with at least one of them polymerized and/or crosslinked in the immediate presence of the other. This entry discusses phase separation and mechanical behavior of IPNs, environmentally sensitive polymers in hydrogels, and applications of temperature sensitive IPN hydrogels.
