Abstract

Interdisciplinary scholars and their literature pervade modern academia, reaching into the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Their publication formats include standard monographs and journals, as well as a rich array of gray literature. Online searching remains, however, problematic with library services and collections struggling to meet their information needs. Using both formal and informal information networks, interdisciplinary scholars construct and maintain their own knowledge domains. Variations in the information experiences and literatures of interdisciplinary work in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences continue to require focused support mechanisms.
