Abstract

Research in the field of robotics encourages industry and academia to tackle real-world hurdles. The synergy of robotics with other technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR) and Computer Vision (CV) is a key to unlock the potential of robotics. In this study, we propose a robotic arm system enabled with computer vision and sensor to detect, grasp and move objects from one location to another location. Two different sensors—ultrasonic and infrared—are used to increase object detection accuracy. OpenCV libraries are installed in the main Raspberry Pi controller for image processing. In addition, object detection and location extraction techniques are executed with the aid of image processing methods and speech recognition methods. The result outcomes from our proposed system show that the robotic arm is more accurate and stable compared to other studies.
