Abstract

In this section, we introduce the fundamental properties of the primary low-temperature superconductors (those typically requiring liquid He cooling to operate), which include the Nb-based superconductors that dominate the commercial application of superconductors as well as MgB₂ and the Chevrel phase compounds (ternary Mo chalcogenides) that offer the potential of lower material costs in the future.
