Abstract

Smart cities include technologiesto achieve economic upswing and enhance the quality of life through environmentalaspects and encourage people to scale down energy consumption. In this current situation, practicing eco‐friendly concepts in design can reduce the pessimistic impact onnature thus achieving smart energy‐efficient buildings. Strategically, adaptivenature of bio‐inspired theories is focused by the authors. The buildingenvelope is the interphase by which the building interacts with the surroundingexterior and interior. The main concern of the authors is to deal with smartcity buildings using the ultimate sustainable design parameters to achieve aneco‐friendly environment and increase the excellence of living by reducingenergy consumption. This paper aims to explore bio mimicry strategies to scaledown the utilization of energy in cities through building skin. This research studycarefully picks up case studies which relate façade imitating bio mimicry, whichsaves energy & establishes hi‐tech cities by imitating the process ofcosmos, up to what extent they are wealthy. In addition to this, the paperemphasis on the protocols mentioned to apply bio mimicry in designing processwhere a building skin minimize energy consumption in the whole city to attainan ideal smart city.
