Abstract

Smart grid is the future of the power sector in the 21st century. Information about consumer consumption, peak hour loads, and past failure are collected to form a robust, scalable, and self-healing power grid system. There is a full-duplex kind of transmission among the different entities involved in this system (Kabalci & Kabalci, 2017). Figure 15.1 shows the abstract representation of the smart grid system where blue color solid lines are used for transmission of power and red dotted lines are used for communication of the consumer-related information toward the power station.
