The history of superconducting materials started in 1911 by investigation of superconducting properties of mercury (Hg) (Onnes, 1911). Later the interest in applications of superconductors was based on using Nb with critical temperature T c = 9.2 K. Many Nb-based devices were designed for application at cryogenic temperatures (van Weers et al., 2013; Tuckerman et al., 2016; Bai et al., 2017).
