Recently, electrochromic (EC) polymers have gained attention for the development of organic electrochromic devices (ECD), which are widely applied for industrial applications instead of traditional inorganic ECD. They have outstanding properties that include their easy availability, processing, and perceived controllable color, flexibility, low cost, long usable lifetime, and high optical contrast. In this chapter, several EC conjugated polymers (CPs) will be focused on, which include polyanilines (PANI), polypyrrole (PPy), and polythiophenes, (PTh). In addition, polyamides (PA), polycarbazoles (PCz), viologens, and their polymer composites as their metal coordination complexes, carbon-based materials and metal oxide films, which improve their thermal stability, mechanical strength, and electrochromic performance, will be discussed.
