Abstract

The focus of this chapter is on electroactive polymers (EAPs) and their applications for packaging materials. This chapter will cover the introductory chemistry, physics, and mechanisms of EAP technologies and their application strategies for packaging technologies. The EAP field is experiencing interest from researchers and industry, because of their ability to develop improved polymeric materials along with modern digital technologies. To develop advanced packaging technology, the world needs to understand the fundamental theory of EAP technology and their mechanisms.
