ABSTRACT
This chapter covers earthworks, that is, design and construction involving major volumes of glacial soils. It covers the stability of slopes, tunnels and embankments and stabilised ground. The principles of stability for mass movements of soil also apply to the overall stability of geotechnical structures covered in Chapter 6.
