ABSTRACT
Case-control study investigators sometimes choose to match controls to cases based on the values of suspected confounders or other variables in the designs of their studies. This chapter describes the reasons for matching in the design, several methods for matching, and the statistical methods required to account for matching in logistic regression analysis of matched case-control data.
