ABSTRACT

Land, which must be used by all generations of people worldwide, as well as all the life-forms and processes of Nature through all of time, is not a commodity that can be owned in fee simple, albeit one can today purchase a parcel of land and obtain a title and deed to justify in one’s mind that such ownership exists. But fundamentally, land is not a commodity, and by many cultures is considered a “commons” for use by all under specific communal rules.
