ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses the management of steroids and secondary steroid effects on orthopedic treatment interventions. It does so in light of emerging research on the gastrointestinal mucosa as a key regulator of autoimmune arthritis. The chapter applies the research to clinical rheumatology and concludes with a case study.
