ABSTRACT
The major part of an investment in any facility is the operation of that facility. Thus, the old adage ‘begin with the end in mind‘ is an appropriate philosophy by which to look at the facility production process through integrated project delivery. What is it that we want from our facility and how do we go about ensuring that we get what we want? Indeed, do we expect our requirements and objectives to change over the life-cycle of the facility? Here, we are moving away from using the project delivery process to focusing on the entity, the facility itself. We are expanding the scope and remit of our team in order to achieve operational goals.
