ABSTRACT

Millimeter (mm) waves comprise the region of electromagnetic spectrum between 30 and 300 GHz (wavelength (λ) = 1–10 mm in free space). However, in common practice, mm wave studies of biological effects cover the frequency range between 30 and 100 GHz. Submillimeter waves or terahertz radiation spectrum (1 THz = 1012 Hz) is typically defined as 100–10,000 GHz or 0.1–10 THz, i.e., GHz and THz radiations are between the radiofrequencies and the far infrared radiations.
