ABSTRACT
Antimicrobial or antibacterials, drugs are the greatest contribution of the twentieth century to therapeutics. Their advent changed the outlook of the physician about the powerful drugs can have on diseases. The word antibiotics derived from the two Greek words anti mean “against”, and bio s means “life” (bacteria are life forms), so the antibiotics are the 340substances (both natural and synthetics) used to control the growth of or kill bacteria.
