Abstract

Chapter 10.1 in the appendix section provides a complete listing of all definitions that are needed to understand the terms used in this volume. This chapter contains detailed definitions of only those terms that were used in industrial process measurement and control at the time prior to the digital age. For this reason the definitions usually correspond to analog—including pneumatic—systems. Therefore, Chapter 10.1 covers a much wider range of subject matters, while this chapter includes more detailed definitions of the terms used in the field of analog process control engineering and in process measurement and instrumentation testing.
