Abstract

Level measurement is used to fulfill many tasks including to determine the contents of tanks, to activate alarm and safety devices, to actuate valves, to regulate hydropower stations, etc. In the chemical industry, level measurement is needed to determine the exact amount of liquids that must be managed in a mixing process. In this chapter, the installation of some of the most frequently used level detectors will be discussed.
