This chapter presents the experimental platform, in prototype details, for Tbps optical transmission, whereby the generation of multicarrier lightwaves and modulation techniques for forms polarized-division multiplexed quadrature phase-shift keying (PDM-QPSK) channels closely spaced, so as to achieve the most effective spectral density for 1.12 Tbps or higher optical fiber transmission platform. Optical fiber transmission platforms of 1.12 Tbps and 2.24 Tbps are successfully developed, and transmission of superchannels over 3500 km of optically amplified SSMF spans with BER of 2 × 10−3 (hard FEC qualified) for 28 GBaud Nyquist QPSK and 2 × 10−2 (soft FEC qualified) at 32 GBaud. Furthermore, 20% FEC can be employed to achieve improvement in transmission distance up to 2500 km.
