Abstract

Input-queued (IQ) packet switches are a popular switch architecture in commercial routers. A motivation to adopt them is that the required memory speed may be relaxed in comparison to other queueing strategies. This chapter discusses the challenges for this switch architecture and the matching schemes used to configure these switches.
