ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with alkali-silica reaction (ASR) in the North American countries of the United States of America (USA) and Canada. Note that ASR in other parts of this continent (i.e., Central America) is discussed in Chapter 11. Also note that although cases of alkali-carbonate reaction (ACR) have been found in the USA and Canada, this form of alkali-aggregate reaction is discussed in Chapter 4.
