ABSTRACT
This chapter presents an overview of Alkali-Aggregate Reaction in South and Central America. To accomplish this task, a thorough literature search was carried out. Several sources (in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish) have been consulted, including journal papers, international, regional and local conferences, workshops and symposia, theses, bulletins of professional associations and engineering institutes. This in-depth research indicated that, in the region covered by this Chapter, no incidences of AAR have so far been reported outside Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Uruguay.
