ABSTRACT
When a beam of X-ray photons interacts with a sample, it can cross the sample without any interaction or it can be scattered or absorbed (see Section I, Chapter 1). The interaction is due to three typical main effects (Figure 54.1):
Absorption (through photoelectric effect)
Compton scattering (or incoherent scattering)
Coherent scattering
