ABSTRACT
Since medical images have been made available in digital format, initially through digitalization of screen films and later through direct digital acquisition, computerized image processing and visualization have been used to achieve more accurate, reliable, and faster image interpretation. Generally speaking, the term computer-aided detection/diagnosis denotes a broad range of artificial intelligence (AI) software designed to help radiologists improve their diagnostic accuracy.
