Abstract

This chapter describes advanced methods of fluorescence imaging and in vitro diagnostics with some emphasis on wide-field microscopy with high spatial, spectral, and temporal resolution. Applications are concentrated on tumor diagnosis by autofluorescence, measurements of cholesterol dependent membrane dynamics, and detection of intermolecular interactions in pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease as well as in sensing of apoptosis.
