Abstract

Space and time are the basic concepts that encompass our mathematical descriptions of ecosystems. Usually, space is interpreted as being three dimensional; whereas time, playing the role of a fourth dimension, is of a different type from the spatial dimension. This is the common Euclidean paradigm adopted for the description of a continuous space. In nonrelativistic contexts, time is considered a universal parameter that is independent of the state of motion of an observer.
