Abstract

Agile is an umbrella term used to describe a set of paradigms and approaches to the software development process. The term was popularized with the publication of the Agile Manifesto (Beck et al. 2001) by a group of 17 authors and reflects an intention of the signatories to differentiate agile approaches from a trend in software development methodologies that had gained dominance in previous decades.
