The Train Communication Network (TCN) represents a fieldbus, which is used in railway vehicles. This established fieldbus has been standardized as an IEC standard by an international alliance of railway manufacturers (IEC 61375-1, see [1]). The TCN according to the IEC standard is structured in a hierarchical way with the following components: (1) the interconnection of train segments (so-called consists) is handled by a Wire Train Bus (WTB) and (2) the interconnection of devices within each train segment is controlled by a Multifunction Vehicle Bus (MVB).*
