Auditory evoked responses have been used as an important tool in audiological and neurotological diagnosis. Technical developments and improved procedures in this field have increased reliability. This chapter ranges from short-latency response, such as electrocochleography (ECoG), to the long-latency responses, such as P300 and N400, and divides them into routine and nonroutine use methods. Although generators, time epochs, stimulus, and response dependencies are different among these responses, there are common principles. They use similar acoustic stimuli and amplification as well as signal averaging techniques to detect meaningful signals from noisy background electroencephalographic activity.
