ABSTRACT
The chemical composition of petroleum and the related heavy oil, as well as extra heavy oil and tar sand bitumen petroleum products, is complex (Speight, 2001, 2014, 2015), which makes it essential that the most appropriate analytical methods are selected from a comprehensive list of methods and techniques for the analysis and evaluation of renery feedstocks (Dean, 1998; Miller, 2000; Budde, 2001; Speight, 2001, 2005, 2014; Speight and Arjoon, 2012).
