ABSTRACT

Graphene research is a fast growing field of opportunities covering a transversal research landscape from basic science to technology. Here, we focus on the possibility of tuning the electronic and transport properties of graphene through illumination with a laser field. Our driving questions are, Is it possible to induce band gaps in graphene through laser illumination? Can those gaps be observed? In this chapter, we extend previous works on this subject while giving a broader and updated introduction to this fascinating field.
