Abstract

The World Wide Web is now part of our everyday life, connecting systems and users to a wide range of services and information. In using any data over the Internet, it is important to have some information on the quality of the data you are using. This chapter discusses the general issue of metadata paradigms on the Web and a range of technologies: JSON for moving key-value pairs around, POWDER for providing information about content and the general powerful Resource Description Framework and its associated query language SPARQL.
