ABSTRACT
Most of realistic flows are turbulent, looking chaotic, disordered, and unpredictable. The physical processes that govern turbulence are far to be all understood, although it attracted a lot of attention in the literature since the nineteenth century. Therefore, turbulence remains one of the main challenges of modern science, which has an impact from the human, social, and economic standpoints, especially in the understanding of climate change and ecological issues.
