ABSTRACT

Nematodes of the genus Eustrongylides (family Dioctophymidae, Railliet 1915) 78 are parasitic in the gastrointestinal tract of fish-eating birds as adults and in the body cavity of freshwater fish as larval forms. 1 Eustrongylides usually occur in eutrophic and anthropogenically dominated water bodies having a high concentration of nutrients and minerals where there is an availability of potential intermediate hosts and the larvae can complete their life cycle. 2–5
