ABSTRACT
As stated in Chapter 1.1, astrobiology seeks to understand the origins, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe. Because this compelling charter statement is also quite ambitious, a framework is needed to identify key concepts and advocate priorities. An astrobiology roadmap or strategy provides this framework.
