ABSTRACT
Over the span of a hundred years or so, from the late nineteenth century to the early twentyfirst, the Palestinian national movement has been woven of many strands – a patchwork of various ideological and political influences, social and religious impulses, and proactive and reactive forces taking shape and evolving with the passage of different circumstances and under the impact of varying local and international conditions.
