Rebecca M. Bratspies is a Professor of Law at the CUNY School of Law, New York. She directs the CUNY Center for Urban Environmental Reform. Her scholarly research focuses on the international dimensions of environmental regulation and on environmental democracy. Professor Bratspies has published widely on the topics of environmental liability, international fisheries management and genetically modified food crops. She co-edited Transboundary Harm in International Law: Lessons from the Trail Smelter Arbitration (Cambridge University Press, 2006) and Progress in International Law (Martinus Nijhoff, 2008). Professor Bratspies holds a BA in Biology from Wesleyan University and graduated with honours from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
