ABSTRACT
Religious education in the European Union has become a topic of great relevance as a result of the transformation of Europe into amulti-faith continent, and several studies have been recently devoted to this subject.1 The chapters in this book covering various European nations show that the teaching of religion in European public schools is imparted according to three different patterns.
