ABSTRACT
With globalization and the increasing tension from open competition, the developing countries have tried to overcome their handicaps to economic growth. Developing countries have had to face their own specific problems but, in general, there might be common problems, such as low rates of human development, high dependence on natural resources, poor infrastructure, and sometimes getting caught in the economic trap of being part of the developing world without making any effort to prepare for a developmental leap.
