ABSTRACT
This chapter draws from a range of resources to explore the interconnections between the experiences and responses of those whose fallen relatives lie in war graves and those whose Ancestors are stored in museums. The chapter reveals important similarities among these two categories. Importantly, the chapter emphasises the parallels between violent processes of colonialism and other global conflicts while contrasting the dramatically differing responses to the treatment of human remains in each of these contexts.
