Abstract

Evidential markers indicate the source of information. For example, stem+soo ‘look like, seem,’ nonpast/past+soo ‘I hear,’ yoo ‘seem,’ rashii ‘seem, I hear’ and mitai ‘seem,’ indicate that what the speaker is saying is an impression, hearsay, inference, or conjecture.
