Abstract

Now when Severus also was stirring up persecution against the churches splendid martyrdoms of the champions of piety were accomplished everywhere, but especially frequently in Alexandria. God’s champions were taken there as to a grand arena from Egypt and the whole of Thebes. They, through their most steadfast endurance, were wreathed with the crowns that come from God.
