Abstract

In this chapter, we synthesize recent works on the links between climate change and inequality to show how climate change impacts and mitigation affect inequalities, both between countries and between individuals. First, we analyze inequalities in exposure and vulnerability to climate change. Second, we study inequality in the contribution to greenhouse gas emissions between countries and individuals. Finally, we show how inequality can shed light on the fairness of actions to fight climate change.
