ABSTRACT
The first chapter gives a presentation of the core issues that will be presented during the book. It emphasizes the variety in approaches and understanding of what poverty is, and refers to the UN’s goal of eradicating poverty. The chapter informs on the choice of structure in the book and, briefly, what can be found in the different chapters throughout the book. The chapter thus sets the scene for the book.
