ABSTRACT

In October 2013, during a visit to Indonesia, the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative was proposed by Xi Jinping (chairman of China). In 2014, the Global Maritime Axis Strategy (hereinafter referred to as “this strategy”) was proposed by Joko Widodo (President of Indonesia). Then, during the integration practice between this strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative, China and Indonesia cooperated in the following aspects: policy coordination, infrastructure connectivity, financial integration, unimpeded trade and understanding between people. In the future, both countries will continue to further strengthen cooperation through infrastructure, production capacity and unofficial exchange.
