ABSTRACT
In December 2014, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of the China–ASEAN Education and Training Centre by the Yunnan Minzu University. Built on the China–ASEAN Education and Training Centre, the Yunnan Minzu University set up the Lancang–Mekong International Vocational Institute in December 2016, which focuses on cultivating high-quality talents of practical skills that suit the needs of socioeconomic development in the Lancang–Mekong region. The Lancang–Mekong alliance of vocational education was launched on January 15, 2017. To date, 3 universities, 19 higher-educational institutions and 30 other related organisations from Mekong countries have joined the Alliance.
