ABSTRACT

The Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation Dialogue Mechanism for Macroeconomic Policies is an arrangement for international cooperation for dialogues, negotiations or policy coordination on macroeconomic issues under bilateral or multilateral occasions. It is generally organised by government bodies for macroeconomic management. Based on the levels of the chair or participant, the dialogue can be categorised as the level of heads-of-state, deputy premier, minister, deputy minister, director-general or deputy director general. Among them, the level at or above deputy premier stresses on discussions of strategic, overall and long-term issues in bilateral or multilateral relations. Based on the area of topics, the dialogue can be divided into policy dialogues in areas including finance, structural reform and economic development strategy.
