ABSTRACT

Think tanks are the bridge linking the government with the public and linking policy research with knowledge transmission. Since the proposal of the BRI, the academic circles of both home and abroad have responded proactively and conducted broad and in-depth study. At present, think tanks and Belt and Road research institutes in China have exceeded 400 in number, over 50 prestigious think tanks outside China have joined Belt and Road research with a range of research results. Centring on pursuing the BRI, related research institutes were established, and think tanks from BRI participating countries have continuously intensified exchanges and cooperation, launching some critical research results. Chinese think tanks have published more than 400 books on the Belt and Road, and approximately 50 famous foreign think tanks have issued over 100 special reports on the Belt and Road. Think tanks have built a bridge for BRI in promoting communication, enhancing understanding and building consensus.
