Abstract

The image of the future war sets directions of military psychology development. Hybrid wars will combine traits of traditional wars and strategies of “soft power” (psychological operations, terrorist activities, revolutions). The multisphere character, uncertainty, variability and complexity of wars will determine their special stressfulness. Warriors can be exposed to stress typical for different types of wars and experience extreme psychological stress. New technologies will give warriors the opportunity to have supervision, superpower, super intellect, and will turn battles into fierce psychological confrontation. The integration of psychology with related sciences will increase the ability to manipulate the public consciousness. Using the methods of simulation of real situations, psychological selection will be transformed into assessment of a warrior's ability to act in an environment of the unknown, uncertainty and variability. The methods of battle simulation with the use of virtual technologies and military-sport games will be introduced into psychological training. Methods of exposition therapy, supplemented by virtual and social reality, will be used in psychological rehabilitation of veterans.
