ABSTRACT
In this nine-month period, following her trip with Billy to Canada and the USA (see letter 156), Maconchy was busy with numerous commissions while her music had various performances and broadcasts, including the premières of her Serenata concertante for violin and orchestra (1962) and her Quintet for clarinet and strings (1963).
